What is Cardano?
Cardano is a third-generation decentralised blockchain platform and home to the ADA cryptocurrency, among others. It is the first blockchain platform to evolve from a scientific philosophy and a research-driven approach. The Cardano platform has been designed from the ground up and verified by an industry-leading combination of top engineers and academic experts in the fields of blockchain and cryptography.
It has a strong focus on sustainability, scalability and transparency. It is an open source project that aims to provide an inclusive, fair and resilient infrastructure for financial and social applications on a global scale.
One of its main objectives is to bring reliable and secure financial services to those who currently do not have access.
Cardano has been designed with safety as one of its fundamental principles. It is written in Haskell, a functional programming language. In a functional language such as Haskell, the system is encouraged to be constructed using pure functions, leading to a design in which components are conveniently testable in isolation. In addition, Haskell's advanced features allow us to employ a number of powerful methods to ensure code correctness, such as basing the implementation on formal and executable specifications, performing extensive property-based testing, and running tests in simulation.
Each ADA holder also has a stake in the Cardano network. Each ADA stored in a wallet can be delegated to a Reward Pool - to participate in the smooth running of the network - or committed to a Stake Pool to increase the likelihood of the group receiving rewards. Over time, ADAs will also be used for a variety of applications and services on the Cardano platform.
What is ADA?
ADA (whose symbol is
₳) is a digital currency or cryptocurrency. A cryptocurrency is a digital asset, which is stored in the ledger and is designed to serve as a medium of exchange for goods or services.
Distributed ledgers (Blockchains) serve as the underlying technology for the creation of cryptocurrencies in a decentralised environment. Blockchain protocols use rigorous cryptographic techniques to enable the minting (creation) of cryptocurrencies and to secure and verify the ownership of cryptocurrencies and records of funds movement. The price of cryptocurrency is not controlled by a government or a centralised financial institution. It is defined by its value, correlation with real-world figures, and is driven by market supply and demand.
Each distributed ledger has its underlying cryptocurrency or native currency. ADA is the native or primary currency of Cardano. This means that ADA is the main unit of payment in Cardano; it is accepted as payment of fees, for making deposits, and it is also the only currency in which rewards are distributed.
Lovelaceis the smallest ADA denomination. One ADA is divided into 1,000,000 Lovelaces. ADA has six decimal places, which makes it easily divisible into smaller fractions.
Cardano also supports the creation of native
tokens, i.e. digital assets created for specific purposes. This means that users, developers and businesses can use the Cardano blockchain to create tokensthat represent a footprint of value (whether defined by the community, the state of the market or a self-governing entity). A tokencan be fungible or non-fungible (unique), and act as a unit of payment, reward, commercial asset or information carrier.

What is a node or a pool in Cardano?
What is a node in Cardano? the quick answer is; a node participating in the Cardano network with three responsibilities:
Creates new blocks containing new values (mining).
Verify blocks created by others.
It confirms transactions and smart contracts made on the network.
Unlike other blockchains, which rely on PoW (
Proof of Working) to carry out their tasks, Cardano's blockchain uses PoS ( Proof of Stake), i.e. instead of consuming a huge amount of energy, Cardano uses a consensus algorithm based on the delegation of funds and the subsequent proof of funds (PoS).
Staking in a Cardano pool is an operation that is carried out on the nodes of the network. It consists of delegating funds to a node with staking capacity (such as ours) and in exchange it obtains a compensation or reward every five days. The reward, as of today, is approximately 5% to 6% per annum. The reward is paid in ADA. It is similar to bank remuneration, except in one detail: when you delegate your funds to a node, you do not lose ownership of them; delegating funds to a node does not involve any transaction. The funds remain in your possession and you can dispose of them whenever you want. Without mediating with the pool where you have delegated it.
Why do you use Cardano's Blockchain?
Because after testing the main ones (Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, etc.), Cardano came out on top for various reasons, mainly economic and technical:
Cardano's Blockchain is the best constructed, in our opinion. Because of the intensive use of formal verification techniques of algorithms, the use of the scientific method and the publication of its performance at scientific conferences (and therefore subject to review by the scientific community). Cardano's main cryptocurrency, ADA, is a stable coin, but of increasing value, rising as the value of its community rises. It gives us joy but no problems.
Crucially, Cardano's Blockchain has very low transaction fees, which is vital for developing complex solutions.
